How to add an SPF record to your domain

An SPF record tells mail servers which servers may send email for your domain. Without it, email forged in your name is easier to deliver, and your real email is more likely to land in spam.

The include in the example is Google Workspace's. Every mail provider (Microsoft 365, your host, your newsletter tool) publishes its own include — put them all in one record. A domain may have only one SPF record.

How to fix it

DNS registrar

Where: your DNS provider — add a TXT record on the root domain

Type: TXT Name: @ Value: "v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all"

SPF tells the world which servers may send email as your domain (adjust the include for your mail provider).

How to confirm: Use mxtoolbox.com/spf to confirm the record resolves.
